The dome is worked in jaali, the traditional lattice, built up from rows of tiny raised beads so it catches light from every angle instead of going flat. Below it hangs a fringe of round ghungroo beads that move when you do — and these are bright gold against the darker antique dome, so the fringe is the part that catches the light.
